Focus on Play If You Can

Description:

Oops... we don't have a description written for this yet, but it's probably still pretty insightful.

I totally get that sometimes things just seem super serious; and, of course, that’s okay. But is this “seriousness” creating a massive restriction in your heart and gut? As if, all the fearful thoughts that come up are somehow… true?

I really invite us, especially at the beginning of the week, to take a moment and just… step back, take a breath, and find some gentle humor in this (understandable) human tendency to take things so seriously. I mean, how many times have we been lost in a sense of seriousness that robbed us of the playful spirit that we would rather be with. Can we observe this objectively, please? Can we just be honest about the reality and sincerity of this, that we get caught up in thinking about impossible things, we tell silly stories, and create imaginary monsters?

Hey, none of this is wrong or bad; we’re all in the same boat, it comes with being human. But what also comes with being human, is our capacity to step outside the mind’s dream and just say…

“Geez, that’s wild! I’m pretending this is serious and not playful. I’m taking things personally that aren’t personal at all. Not only that, but I’m afraid of other people’s thoughts about me which aren’t even about me. Wow, I’m… playfully insane 😂.”  (or some other variation of playful human insanity)

No need to be serious about your seriousness. No need to judge your self-judgment. And…. no need to worry about the worry. That all just reinforces that they are real. Our opportunity is to take a breath, and just… SEE them for what they are, and… forgive it all (that’s the playfulness that forgives).

When we seem trapped in seriousness, it will always come back to a fear of losing our worth and value in the future. Sure, maybe things are going differently than you expected. Sure, maybe the future looks suuuuper uncertain. And… sure, maybe you don’t have the control you think you should have. But… in some way, it’s always been this way, and, here you are in this moment, whole and complete (beyond the mind’s noise). You MADE IT! Congratulations!

It’s all been a playful journey to get here. What a wild ride; and through it ALL you’ve been waking up more and more to the miracle of Life and what you truly are. This PLAY, and this DISCOVERY, won’t stop anytime soon. It will continue to be what it always has been; a deep dive into the unknown that brings you closer to the heart of life, while inviting us to embrace the adorable fears!
