Mindset Shifts

Description:

Oops... we don't have a description written for this yet, but it's probably still pretty insightful.

Quote: The reason people have difficulty connecting with this depth of self sincerity, is ONLY because they fear judgment, they fear it might be wrong.

Whether in your personal life or in running a business, a shift in mindset allows for greater ease, more joy, and more abundance.

It’s a common assumption that achieving ease, joy, and abundance requires “doing” more or working harder. In reality, a shift in mindset enables you to do LESS by working and thinking smarter.

Are we open to the possibility that our current way of thinking might be limiting us?

I find it fascinating how the mind can become locked into patterns of thinking that assume life is the way we think it is. These patterns often involve narrow assumptions that anticipate future limitations, assuming that things will be far more difficult than they have to be.

Rather than questioning life or even questioning yourself, my invitation is to question your thinking and assumptions. Here is a list of powerful questions to ask about your thinking that can help shift your mindset:

  • What am I repeatedly telling myself about my ability to make progress?
  • Am I focusing on how difficult it might be, or am I curious about how much easier it will become?
  • Do I think my fears are in the way, or do I think they are both hilarious and adventurous?
  • Am I considering how to merely survive, or am I envisioning what it would truly mean to thrive?
  • Why am I thinking about this (XYZ)? Is it to avoid future rejection, or to invite more play and awareness?
  • As I see or experience my weakness, is that a problem that means I’m weak? Or, is it an opportunity to get stronger?
  • As I think about money, what do I assume that anticipates lack in the future?

Let’s be aware of this powerful reminder:

As I’m thinking about things, I’m not really thinking about “things,” I’m thinking about my thinking; this thinking is like writing a book about how I will experience life.

Yesterday, I had an adorable coaching session where there was this ‘holy shit’ moment. The person I was coaching was spending so much time thinking about what to do and what not to do, etc. But, really, underneath all that thinking, they were trying to be accepted in the minds of others or not be rejected. During this adorable insanity, there was no room to actually check in with the self/heart and see what was sincere and true. Comically, the answer was super obvious, clear, direct, and easy to see once we realized how insane and impossible the thinking was.

This is a great example of questioning what you are thinking about. Are you even thinking about something that matters, or is it real? When we think about impossible things, thinking gets out of control and takes over our lives. In reality, the answer can be clear and easy. We don’t need to spin our wheels for days, weeks, months, or years, thinking about things.

Happy thinking
